We are tinyBuild, a global video game publisher and developer focused on creating long-lasting, sustainable franchises across multiple media formats. Responsible for over 70 titles, including Hello Neighbor, Graveyard Keeper, and Potion Craft, the company has a dozen development studios spread across the US, EU, Serbia, and Ukraine.

We are seeking a Game Designer (UE4) to join the Hello Neighbor 2 team. It's a single-player, first-person stealth horror game where you play against an advanced AI. 

Supposed platforms: PC; Xbox One/S/X; PS 4/5; Nintendo Switch.

Our new Game Designer may be involved in creating new projects with the Hello Neighbor Franchise.

What are you working on?
  • The name of the project(s): Hello Neighbor 2
  • At what stage of the project(s)? Released
  • Genres: Puzzle, Adventure
  • Platforms: PC, Console
For which tasks (responsibilities)?
  • Full cycle of game mechanics and systems development: from prototyping and internal pitching to integration into the release build;

  • Writing GDD and decomposing it into technical tasks for the development team. Writing accompanying documentation for completed mechanics and systems;

  • Reviewing GDD and completed mechanics from other team members.

What kind of professional are we looking for?

About you:

  • At least a year of experience as a game designer is required;

  • It is obligatory to have prior experience in developing PC/console games. Game Designers with experience in indie game project development are especially welcome!;

  • Strong knowledge of UE4;

  • Experience designing mechanics and systems from scratch in the Stealth, Action, Adventure, and Puzzle genres;

  • Extensive gameplay experience in the Stealth, Action, Adventure, and Puzzle genres.

It would be an advantage:

  • At least an intermediate level of English proficiency;

  • Experience with Git, Jira, and Confluence;

  • Proficient understanding of UX/UI design principles;

  • Experience working as a Level Designer and a solid understanding of UE4 Level Design flow;

  • Experience in establishing processes and effective communication within the department;

  • A broad range of gameplay experiences across various genres and the ability to analyze current gaming trends and developments;

  • Having a portfolio of pet projects is a huge advantage;

  • It is an advantage if you have already played any of the Hello Neighbor Franchise projects
